Okay, done with revisions based on Jacki's critique. Now to a whole reread, this time with deeper understanding of what is going on among the characters and settings. What a world, this writer's chair in the imagination.
I imagine it's not easy to do so many re-reads after alterations and still keep the whole thing fresh as if you're reading it for the first time! Or, maybe that's not the intention? Still I would find it hard to do. Perseverance, dear mother.
